Who We Are

Guess a Game is the data controller for the Guess a Game football prediction service. Contact contact@GuessAGame.com with privacy questions or requests.

Information We Collect

We collect account and authentication information such as email address, sign-in provider identifiers, display name and profile image. We store World Cup and season score predictions, knockout choices, final-table predictions, mini-league membership and renewal records, points, ranks and share links.

Optional profile information includes favourite team, country, preferred league, notification preference and whether you play with friends, an office, pub, school, creator community or another group. These fields are used to personalise league choices, reminders and product communications.

We collect service and security information such as browser, device, approximate location, referral source, interaction events, performance information, IP-derived security signals and operational error logs. We do not intentionally send email addresses or saved score predictions to analytics providers.

How We Use Information And Our Legal Bases

We process account, prediction, leaderboard and mini-league data to provide the service requested by the user and perform our agreement with them. We use legitimate interests to secure the service, prevent abuse, diagnose faults, maintain competition integrity and understand non-marketing operational performance.

We rely on consent for optional analytics, advertising measurement and non-essential marketing emails. Consent can be withdrawn at any time. We may also process information where necessary to comply with a legal obligation or establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

Public And Shared Information

Display names, profile images or generated initials, points, ranks and mini-league standings may be visible to other users. Public share pages can display a prediction or final-table order to anyone with the link and may be copied or reshared. Email addresses and private preference fields are not intended to be public.

Community forecasts are produced from aggregated score predictions. They do not display which individual selected a particular score.

Email And Notification Preferences

Service emails, such as sign-in, security and essential account messages, are separate from marketing. We send non-essential campaigns only where the recipient has an appropriate opt-in. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe method, and we retain a suppression record where needed to respect an opt-out.

Selecting a preferred notification channel records a product preference; it does not by itself authorise marketing through that channel.

Service Providers And International Transfers

We use Supabase for authentication and database services, Vercel for hosting and optional product analytics, Google for sign-in, optional Google Analytics and Google Ads conversion measurement, Sentry for error monitoring, and Resend for email delivery. We may also use professional advisers and public football-data suppliers where necessary to operate the service.

Some providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where this is a restricted transfer, we rely on an applicable adequacy regulation or contractual and organisational safeguards provided by the relevant service provider.

Cookies And Browser Storage

Essential and preference storage supports authentication, security, guest predictions, saved table orders, language choice and referral attribution. Optional analytics does not load until analytics is accepted. Rejecting analytics does not prevent use of the prediction game.

The Cookie Policy lists the principal cookies and browser-storage keys. Cookie Settings in the footer can be used to accept or reject analytics later.

Retention

Account and saved prediction data is retained while an account is active and afterwards where needed to preserve scored competitions, archived mini-league standings, resolve disputes, maintain security or meet legal obligations. Public share records remain available until removed or the underlying feature is retired.

Referral cookies last 30 days and the language cookie lasts one year. Guest data and the analytics choice remain in browser storage until cleared or replaced. Provider logs, analytics and backups follow configured retention periods and are deleted or anonymised when no longer needed.

Your Rights And Choices

Depending on the processing, users may have rights of access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection and data portability. They may withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing already carried out. The right to object to direct marketing can be exercised at any time.

Children

Guess a Game is not designed to use children's information for targeted advertising and does not offer gambling or paid pools. Because football games may be used by families and school communities, we apply privacy-protective defaults and minimise optional profile information.

A child under 13 should not create an account or provide optional profile information without the involvement of a parent or guardian. Adults organising a school group are responsible for using appropriate invitations and supervision.

Automated Forecasts

The Bot produces statistical football forecasts and competes on leaderboards. It does not make decisions about users that have legal or similarly significant effects. Profile preferences may be used to organise relevant league content but are not used for sensitive individual profiling.
